Syrah

We don't know exactly where Syrah comes from, but this late ripening vine variety must come from a hot place. It was introduced in Valais in 1926 by Dr. Henry Wuilloid. This plant ripens late and must be planted in hot plots.

Fragrance : Leather, pepper, spices, tobacco and liquorice
Taste : Peppery, spicy, full-bodied, powerful and tannic with a wonderfully acidic after taste.
Alcohol : 13 % vol.
Ideal serving temperature : 16-18°C
Preservation : 5 to 10 years
Fermentation : In barrels
Name : AOC Valais

Culinary accompaniments : Mutton stew, braised red meats, game, stuffed quails, steak, spicy steak tartar, beef ribs, wild boar and cheese.
