Maison Rouge Wines
The Maison Rouge cellar
Maison Rouge is wines of character made by a close-knit, motivated team working in various areas: vineyards, cellars, administration and sales. We only cellar our own production from our 18 hectares between Sierre and Leytron.
Our philosophy can be summed up in 4 words: authenticity, finesse, homage and sharing.
Authenticity of the grape varieties
For each grape variety, we select the plot with the most suitable terroir and microclimate. This work is continued in the cellar to recreate the specific characteristics of each variety. This quest for authenticity is the pride of our winery.
Fine wines
The vinification process is finely adapted to each wine: length of vatting, fermentation temperature and choice of barrels. Everything is done to bring out the elegance and beauty of our wines, even if it means taking care of them for 8 to 10 years (ageing wines matured in oak barrels). The result is a wide range of wines of the highest quality, with solid, full-bodied character that will delight your taste buds.
A tribute to the Valais region
Both a nod to the land and the history of the canton, our wines bear names taken from the Valais dialect. Matured on the sun-drenched rocky slopes of Bâtassé and Molignon, these creations pay homage to the builders of these terraced vineyards supported by imposing dry stone walls. And to mark these unique works of art, we've stamped them with the seal of an anonymous stonemason, the builder of a cathedral. Wine in Valais.
Sharing a passion
Maison rouge is also a training company. Its vocation is to pass on and share knowledge and passion for wine to a number of apprentices placed under its responsibility. These young people are given responsibilities. They have the opportunity to enjoy enriching experiences and to create their own wine.
