Vintage 2016

The 2016 harvest was marked by contrasting degrees of ripeness depending on the grape variety and the location in the vineyard, which extended the usual harvesting time. The irreproachable state of health of the vineyards enabled high quality grapes to be harvested. After 3 years of poor harvests, the quantities harvested are above the ten-year average.
The first part of the season was marked by cool temperatures and heavy rainfall. As a result, flowering was around ten days late. Then the weather conditions at the start of the summer required constant vigilance on the part of the winegrowers to control fungal diseases, particularly downy mildew. From the end of July, hot and particularly dry conditions prevailed throughout the vineyards. These conditions lasted right through to the harvest, which was spread out more than usual due to the heterogeneous nature of the crops.
