Vintage 2012

This vintage will be remembered as a difficult one. After an early budburst, vegetation development stagnated during April. May was marked by a spring frost which affected more than 150 ha of vineyards. Rain in June caused local coulure and millerandage, as well as above-average powdery mildew. Fortunately, the months of July and August enabled the grapes to develop under optimum conditions, and the harvest ripened slowly in the autumn. The quantities harvested were low, comparable to 2005. But the ripening was pleasing and well-balanced.
