Vintage 2007

2007 was a demanding year for Valais winegrowers. They had to battle against weather conditions that were not always favourable. Bud-break was rapid and the exceptionally high temperatures in April encouraged very early flowering. A gloomy start to the summer and a rainy August slowed the vegetative cycle considerably. And we had to be very careful to avoid fungal diseases. Fortunately, the winegrowers were able to count on an exceptional September to complete the ripening of the harvest.
All in all, the grapes were in excellent health and the natural sugar content was around average. Quantities, on the other hand, were rather modest and well below the ten-year average.
